- Reduced Costs – Can reduce password management costs by up to 91%, saving your business not only time and money, but also freeing up expensive technical resources.
- Improved Security – Allows users to reset their own passwords without the need to have them generated and then communicated via insecure methods such as email.
- Reduced Risk – Using two-factor authentication for password reset validates more information than is usually required by Helpdesk staff, ensuring the password is being reset by the genuine account holder.
- Compliance – Carefully controlling access to systems and data forms an integral part of regulatory and standards frameworks such as ISO-27001 and PCI-DSS.
How it works…
The server software is installed on existing server infrastructure and once configured:
- End user connects to an automated self-help web page or selects “reset password” when logging into Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7
- User is two factor authenticated by prompting for their Pin and Passcode from their mobile phone
- Optionally, the user can be prompted for secret information or existing information such as their employee number instead of a PIN
- After authentication is complete, the user is prompted to enter a new Microsoft Windows password
- Password is reset in Active Directory in real time
